Tiny apartments were built in a Paris metro station with actual volunteers sleeping, eating, and living in these Ikea-furnished spaces as commuters watched.
A Facebook group called "I wanna have a sleepover in IKEA" caught someone's attention over at Ikea and the furniture retailer hosted a real-life sleepover in one of their stores for 100 lucky fans:
Fans were treated to gift bags, hot cocoa and cookies, film screenings, massages, manicures, a choice of linens they wanted to sleep in, sleep expert consultations and a reality show celebrity story time.
Mänland is modeled after Smäland, the Ikea child care center that gives parents an hour or so to shop blissfully without a child in tow. Wives are even given buzzers. Just like how parents are given buzzers to notify them when they need to scoop up their little one from the Smäland ball pit.
Mänland is filled with the "stuff guys like," including foosball, Xbox, pinball machines and free hot dogs.
Speaking of Ikea, here are some print ads from Turkey for the furniture retailer:
These print ads remind you, maybe it is time to get a "Bookcase," "CD Rack" and "DVD Rack" after all.
A couple play fighting with Ikea pillows and such find their antics up in the bedroom and shows they have "Everything You Need To Go Happy To Bed" to make them "Happy Inside."
To promote a new Ikea store in Germany, they created this poster reminiscent of their Ikea furniture assembly instructions. One nice touch: an Ikea store opening requires a bottle of champagne.
I love Ikea and I do like this ad with its minimalistic, OCD-chef aesthetic:
They do stop the sushi making to show their cutting board is ...39:- ???
I know Ikea sells mixing bowls and knives too, having had too many Ikea trips to the point where I'm on first-name basis with Ikea furniture practically... Hey how's it going Lack. What's up Billy! I would have liked it if they did that with the tiny mixing bowls too in the ad. Or is that too Fight Club?
